College is like getting a new pair of shoes, you can either rock them or let them sit in your closet. College is a fresh start for everyone. You can make the most of it, or you simply won’t. Here are my tips, tricks and advice on how to make the most of this experience.
- Put yourself out there
Talk to that person next to you in class, you never know they may end up becoming your best friend for the rest of your life.
- Try to get involved
Be on that intramural team, join that club, go to that game. You may surprise yourself and enjoy something you never thought you would.
- Go to class
Seriously, just go to class.
- Try not to get overwhelmed
Just relax, whenever you’re feeling overly stressed, step away and take some time for yourself then come back when you’re ready.
- One bad grade won’t kill you
There will be times when you’re unhappy with the grade you received, it happens. Let that grade be the motivator to work harder for the next one.
- Academics > Social Life
Your social life should always be a priority, but make sure academics is always above it.
- Be Spontaneous
You may not remember the time you spent an extra hour studying for a test, but you will remember that time you and your friends did . . . (something legal ;))
Trust me, I’ve been through it all and I believe these tips can be a way to make college the best experience of your life. Don’t be afraid of this new chapter, embrace it.
I challenge you to be the person you’ve always wanted to be.
