It’s finally here, the moment we’ve all been waiting for, the end of 2020. Our world has endured so many horrible things this year, but isn’t there always a silver lining? Our little family has gotten to spend so much quality time together this year and Peyton has literally doubled in size and learned so many new things. I thought I would take this opportunity to say goodbye to 2020 by sharing some memories from each month of this crazy year. We hope you enjoy and HAPPY 2021!

January- We started the year off in New Orleans, Louisiana cheering on our Clemson Tigers at the National Championship. And yes, we brought our 11-week-old little Peyton because we are just that crazy. But hey, how cool is it that Peyton can say that her first football game was a National Championship!?

February- The world is still normal! This month Peyton took her first bite of “real food” and LOVED it. And thank goodness because we had a pretty rough time with breastfeeding and bottles in the beginning and really needed to get her weight up. Thank goodness she is a great eater! Her favorite was sweet potatoes!

March- The beginning of the pandemic. Luckily, it was a really warm March and we spent a lot of time in the pool! Don’t let this picture fool you, Peyton LOVED the pool. My birthday is March 19 and that is the day the shutdown began for us, so no big birthday celebration this year, but there’s always next year!

April- Looking for anything at all to celebrate and keep us occupied at home, we celebrated Peyton’s 1/2 birthday with a Mickey Mouse theme! Just a small dinner at home and a little birthday hat, it was the perfect day!

May- My first Mother’s Day! My Mom helped Peyton make me a homemade gift for Mother’s Day and it is something I will cherish forever. May also brought more time in the pool, Peyton’s first beach trip, and many Sunday’s of church in the car (a personal favorite for Peyton)!

June- In June we celebrated Andrew’s first Father’s Day by having Peyton dedicated at church, what a special day! Peyton also took her first boat ride in June and totally loved it. June also brought us Delightfully Dorn! Born our of quarantine, but here to stay, we are so glad we took this leap of faith and started our “life on the internet” with all of you!

July- Surely by now you know how important the 4th of July is to our family. We had a big (COVID safe) party at Andrew’s parents house this year and Peyton didn’t totally hate the fireworks. In fact, I think she actually fell asleep during them. However, July is probably my least favorite month out of this year. One Sunday morning, Peyton pulled on the cord of my curling iron and it landed on her hand. Even though it was only there for a few seconds, it left her with a pretty bad burn and we are still traveling to a burn center for her treatments- no fun!

August- I feel like August really took a turn for everyone and it was socially acceptable to start going outside again. We spent A LOT of time at local apple orchards and that’s pretty much all we did. Who else remembers these chunky legs and fluffy hair!? Gosh she is growing so fast!

September- September was special. We got to take our favorite girl to our favorite place for the very first time. Let’s be clear though, Peyton wasn’t there to watch the game. She was there to pet the puppies, eat the snacks, and climb the bleachers. It was so special to have her there but now she stays back with Grandmom so that Mom and Dad can really focus on the Clemson Tigers winning another National Championship.

October- PEYTON TURNS ONE! Need I say more!? We had a small party at our home for our close family and friends. Andrew also celebrated a birthday and we watched some more football.

November- November was big for us! Peyton and I took our first big solo trip without Andrew to visit my cousin’s farm in Georgia’s low-country. We also enjoyed seeing family for Thanksgiving and started shopping for Christmas!

December- CHRISTMAS! Christmas was REALLY fun at our house this year. Peyton was really into opening presents and of course is still having a ball playing with all her new things. She even got some one-on-one time with Santa this year and it went over really good. After an almost rocky start, they were best friends by the end of the session and she was stealing his jingle bells!
We want to thank you so much for sharing this space with us this year. We can’t wait to see what 2021 brings. Happy New Year!
